Designing a bathroom can be a real challenge for some. These small living spaces are often tricky to organize, which is why a custom-made bathroom cabinet is so valuable for solving clutter and layout issues.
Whether it’s an unusual architecture, technical constraints, or limited space, creativity is often required to create a harmonious and functional bathroom.
Transforming this intimate space into an enjoyable and practical area is no small feat. At JOA, we’ve tackled countless projects where designing a bespoke bathroom cabinet has truly unlocked the room’s potential.
In this article, discover four distinct projects—each with its own unique challenges—that showcase the added value of a JOA custom-made bathroom solution.

A wall-mounted vanity for a lighter feel
Wall-mounted vanities have become a popular trend. While they visually lighten a space, they do require a wall strong enough to support their weight.
This type of custom-made bathroom cabinet makes accessing storage easier and, being suspended, simplifies cleaning while helping to prevent water damage at floor level.
In this particular project, the design also helped to enhance a tricky corner of the room. Sliding doors extend the cabinet along the wall, providing discreet yet functional storage. Small compartments for bottles and bath accessories are neatly integrated, keeping everything organized and accessible.

A large mirror, installed at an angle above the cabinet, cleverly conceals the corner of the wall. Recessed LED strips provide soft, effective lighting without ever causing glare.
A clever family bathroom
For a family bathroom, a single vanity unit is often not enough. The space must be carefully planned to allow easy circulation, maximize storage, and remain fully functional.

In this project, the homeowners wanted to integrate a laundry chute that leads directly to the laundry room on the lower floor—a rare request, but one that is perfectly achievable with a custom design.
We therefore created a spacious and warm custom-made bathroom cabinet, making use of a wall niche to accommodate the chute. But our work didn’t stop there: our designers also envisioned a second unit featuring a Canva screen, creating a more intimate and cozy area within the bathroom.

Facing the vanity, the entrance door made it important to visually separate the space without blocking the light. A mirror was cleverly integrated into the Canva screen, giving the client a full view of herself, seamlessly continuing the reflection from the main vanity. Custom-made bathroom down to the smallest details.

Minimalist vanity units in the attic bathroom
Every project is unique. While some clients prioritize maximum storage, others prefer the simplicity and serenity of a minimalist design.

In this attic bathroom, the sloping roof created a strong presence in the space. To balance this effect, we opted for a lightweight vanity with horizontal lines. Its design visually elongates the room and guides the eye, creating a sense of harmony.

A slender steel base elegantly supports the countertop, with two large drawers suspended beneath. The entire design feels light and airy while remaining fully functional.
A custom-made mirror, tilted to follow the roof slope, captures natural light and visually amplifies the space. A simple project, yet designed down to the smallest detail.
A one-of-a-kind custom-made bathroom fruniture
And then there are the extraordinary projects—those that push us to break conventions and completely rethink the space. This project is one of them.

Here, placing a vanity against a wall was out of the question. The room offered a breathtaking view of the surrounding nature—an invitation to rethink its use.
Rather than turning away from the landscape, we designed an atypical custom-made bathroom cabinet with a contemporary style and clean lines, crafted to blend harmoniously without dominating the space.
A countertop mounted on a wooden base discreetly conceals the technical installations. Two vessel sinks and three steel drawers provide all the essentials for daily use.

This time, the mirror is small, pivoting, and designed to be shared. But it’s no longer the focal point: users wash their faces facing nature, not their reflection. A truly unique sensory experience, made possible by custom design.
