At JOA, we’re above all a close-knit team of passionate professionals whose creativity will keep surprising you.

This will also be an opportunity to introduce the different departments and their roles, as well as the company’s facilities. In short, a complete overview of the JOA universe and the people who contribute to its growth day after day.
The beginnings of JOA’s interior design projects
At JOA, we specialize in interior design, transforming your ideas into reality by creating functional and aesthetic spaces that reflect who you are.
The story of JOA began in 2012 with the creativity of Sébastien. He was soon joined by Olivier, a wood engineer, and together the founders developed a shared vision and set of values. They worked hand in hand to refine new concepts and establish a complete production process for custom interior design projects.
Since we already have an article dedicated to JOA’s story and creation, we invite you to read it here to discover all the details.
Although JOA started with just two people, many others have joined the team over the years. Today, nine of us work together to ensure the smooth execution and successful completion of your bespoke interior design projects.
But who are we?
The team
You probably already know Sébastien and Olivier, but it’s time to introduce the rest of the team. Here, you’ll discover each member’s key role and their contribution to your interior design projects.
The founders

Olivier is our go-to person when it comes to production management. In close communication with our suppliers and partners, he ensures everything runs smoothly and deadlines are met. He’s also responsible for the company’s finances and human resources, a true master when it comes to numbers!
Sébastien, a trained industrial designer, is the creative mind behind JOA. Whether formal or technical, his creativity never ceases to amaze us. He’s the one who imagined JOA’s entire design identity, which he constantly challenges and evolves through each interior design project. Sébastien also leads the first meetings with clients at our showroom and oversees the development of various projects. On top of that, he’s in charge of research and development for new creations.
The design team for interior projects

Meet Florent, JOA’s very first employee. He also studied industrial design and now manages our design team. Today, Florent plays a central role in project management and 3D modeling, overseeing each design until it’s ready for production. Passionate about 3D, he’s always finding ways to improve processes and boost efficiency. He’s also our in-house photographer, a true all-rounder!
Mélissa, also trained in industrial design, welcomes and advises clients in our showroom. Like Sébastien, she designs custom interior layouts that blend your needs with her creative vision. As our communications manager, she also handles JOA’s social media platforms and website.
And then there’s Quentin, our 3D expert. As an industrial draftsman, he works alongside Florent, refining 3D models at the end of the design phase to prepare them for production and installation. He’s in constant contact with the production team, managing the detailed machining plans for both wood and metal components.
The production team

In the carpentry team, you’ll also meet Alexandre, who worked with JOA for many years as an independent craftsman. He knows better than anyone how to assemble our staircases and masters the techniques that make our work unique. Having previously restored antique furniture, Alexandre has a keen eye for detail and ensures the quality of our projects is always second to none.
Our newest team member, Iara, has recently joined the carpentry crew. Like most of our carpenters, once the machined parts are ready, she handles the wood finishing. Highly dedicated, she also takes part in on-site installations, making sure everything perfectly matches the plans. Although she’s only been with us a few months, Iara has naturally become part of the team.
And finally, there’s Grégor. Like the others, he contributes to shaping and finishing each interior project, but he especially enjoys installations. Passionate about learning, he’s increasingly involved in wood machining alongside Valentin. Always sporting his trademark smile, Grégor installs your custom projects with both confidence and expertise.
Who is where?
The Showroom, a space to explore every interior design possibility
Initially located in Molenbeek, then Uccle, and finally in Schaerbeek for the past six years, our showroom is the place to see, touch, test, and admire our samples and furniture for interior design projects. Open from Wednesday to Saturday, 12 a.m. to 6 p.m., it’s the perfect opportunity for us to welcome you, meet in person, and discuss your interior design project.

Our showroom is where it all begins. It’s a welcoming space that allows you to truly understand how we work and the quality of the interior design projects we create.
We also invite you to explore our fine materials and the various finishes available for your project. You can see and test our selection of hardware and handles, which will make your custom project even more unique.
Most of the time, you’ll be greeted by Sébastien or Mélissa. On Saturdays, you might also meet Olivier or Florent. We love discovering your interior design ideas and offering a study to explore all the possibilities that will meet your needs. This first meeting is very important to us, as it helps us understand who you are and what you’re looking for.
Book your appointment here, we’ll be delighted to welcome you!
Our custom carpentry workshop
As you might expect, our workshop is primarily where our production team works. But it’s not just for carpenters, Florent, Quentin, and Olivier are also regularly present to ensure smooth collaboration between the design and production teams.
On Mondays, when the showroom is closed, the entire team gathers at the workshop. It’s a great opportunity to share updates, brainstorm new developments for interior projects, and strengthen team cohesion.

In practice, our workshop is where all the wooden components are crafted. Programming, machining, finishing, and pre-assembly are all handled in-house. Our team of carpenters assembles every piece in the workshop before installation. This makes on-site assembly smoother and ensures that everything meets our high standards beforehand.
It’s in the showroom and then in the workshop that the magic happens — where, together, we bring your custom interior design projects to life, with the belief that they will bring you comfort and joy.
Come meet us by contacting us here or visiting our showroom.
