We love offering our clients a wide range of structures for their custom designs. Some prefer organic, flowing shapes, while others feel more comfortable with linear, structured pieces. By offering models that incorporate curves and Y-shaped supports, we draw inspiration from nature its airy, unstructured elegance, much like a tree.
The U-shaped support model, on the other hand, lightens both the composition and the structure with reassuring, clean lines. Alcoves highlight specific sections of the piece and create a dynamic effect by alternating between open and closed volumes. You are then free to choose shelves in solid wood, steel, or even a combination of both.
Some may prefer our iconic Pô bookshelf model, a wooden structure wrapped in a “skin” of wood or steel. This gives it character in a minimalist and subtle way. Beyond choosing the structure, we offer a wide range of colors and finishes. When it comes to wood, you probably know that we are big fans of bamboo for most of our custom designs. But did you know that oak is also one of our favorites?
Oak has many advantages in addition to being more locally sourced. It creates visual harmony with your existing furniture and flooring. Its multilayer construction provides resistance and stability comparable to bamboo. Custom-made in Vendée, these solid oak panels exude nobility. The characteristic oak grain is beautifully highlighted by our designs, adding incredible charm while maintaining JOA’s signature style.
Additionally, the integration of steel into our furniture gives it a clean and airy style. Thanks to its combination of slenderness and strength, steel allows us to meet a wide range of design and functional requirements. That’s not all JOA is constantly innovating through research and development to take your projects even further. We now also offer brass hardware. This noble material brings a unique identity to each piece. Its combination with bamboo or oak works beautifully, no matter which finish you choose.
