<\/figure>\n\nThe idea of combining a staircase and a toilet is not new. Many homeowners look to make use of the space beneath a first-floor staircase by integrating an under-stair toilet, a practical and relevant solution, especially in family homes. <\/p>\n\n
This project, however, presented several challenges. The clients wanted: <\/p>\n\n

- an ergonomic, contemporary staircase,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- a bright, spacious entrance hall,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A discreet yet comfortable under-stair toilet.
What makes this project unique is the choice of a suspended staircase, a more complex option when integrating an additional function beneath. The Canva suspended staircase was the natural choice. With young children in the household, the clients also valued the safety features of this model, thanks to its carefully controlled design and wrap-around railing. <\/p>\n\n

Thanks to its riserless design, the staircase allows natural light to flow freely through the entire entrance hall, enhancing the sense of openness and brightness.<\/p>\n\n

An under-stair toilet designed as a volume in its own right<\/h2>\n\n
To integrate the under-stair WC seamlessly, our designers conceived a uniform, comfortably proportioned unit that perfectly follows the geometry of the staircase.

- Ensures aesthetic continuity with the stair treads.

<\/figure>\n\nThe treads extend into a custom-made box that encloses the room, while the risers subtly enhance the volume. Unlike a conventional drywall solution, the use of integrated wood panels saves space and delivers a premium, high-end finish. <\/p>\n\n
All technical elements of the under-stair toilet, sanitaryware, washbasin, lighting, and storage units \u2014 are seamlessly integrated into the walls, ensuring perfect visual harmony. The result is a comfortable, warm, and intimate under-stair WC, where every centimetre has been carefully optimized.<\/p>\n\n
Creating an upstairs office space: optimizing down to the last detail<\/h2>\n\n
The project doesn\u2019t stop at the ground floor. Optimization continues upstairs, where the larger-than-average hopper offered untapped potential.

<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nThe staircase structure plays a key role in this solution: it supports both the floor extension and the desk attachment, reinforcing the overall rigidity of the construction. An intelligent approach, balancing technical precision with aesthetic appeal. <\/p>\n\n
The desk features a generous work surface that extends seamlessly into the existing niches. It is anchored to the steel balustrade, echoing the aesthetics of the Canva staircase for perfect visual coherence.
